Sunday is Father's Day which is always difficult for me, simply because my father and I do not have the most wonderful history. As we both have grown older, we have made necessary changes to make the relationship at least bearable. This year I decided to try something new with him. Instead of buying a gift (in reality I rarely buy or give him anything for this 'holiday'), I have decided to take a more creative approach. I thought about my Father and as with most memories I set them to music in my mind, songs that remind me of those times. So naturally I decided to make a mix CD of music that makes me think of my father. I also took some of the hard copy memories (photos) and placed them in a 5 picture frame (which I have done before but oh well). I am also making low-fat turtle brownies and raspberry-citrus bars (a twist on the classic lemon bar)~ Recipes to follow if trial is successful. I am secretly hoping that all of these gifts combined together may draw a tear out of that man's eye. The CD is really heartfelt with a splash of randomness that may conjure up a giggle. So this blog is dedicated to all of the fathers out there. Remember, "Any man can be a father, but it takes a special someone to be a dad"~Anne Geddes
On a completely separate side note, I dyed my hair last week and decided to put a nice hot pink strip in the front. Here is a picture for your enjoyment! Have a wonderful rest of the week and weekend!
